Happy New Year!

Another year gone and I for one am really looking forward to 2008. Not that 2007 was such a bad year but I have a gut feeling that 2008 will be prosperous for many. Could be because I watched world renowned psychic, Sylvia Browne, on The Montel Show this morning where she announced her prosperous predictions for 2008--including that our next president will be a democrat. That alone is enough to brighten my day. A new year brings so much to look forward to. It's like a new beginning. A chance to start over. Many people make New Year's resolutions and I usually make a couple too, though it doesn't necessarily have to be a new year to make a change. But it can be a good time to make some positive changes since that's when we tend to think of new beginnings. Maybe this year we can reach beyond the typical lose a few pounds, eat healthier and get organized. Although those are good goals to achieve, maybe you could decide to go after your dreams or get in touch with an old friend. Or maybe you could decide to have more fun and feel good about yourself and your life. That's one I plan on putting into effect.

Well, I've got to get back to my New Year's Eve festivities--watching movies with my husband and kids. Now it's time to make hot fudge sundaes! So much for the eating healthier resolution. My days of drinking champagne until the wee hours of the morning on this night have been long gone since I got pregnant with my son 6 years ago. Even though sometimes I long for those days, I wouldn't trade my family for anything in the world.

So have a happy new year and good luck on those resolutions. Try to make ones that will bring you more peace and abundance in every area of your life.

Until next time, be prepared for the best!

Law of Giving and Receiving

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and is expecting great things in the new year. Here is something that I read in Croz Newsletter--he's a fabulous teacher of the law of attraction and a member of the SOGR network and forum. Anyway, he has some good advice which is similar to a post that I did a few months ago and I decided to post Croz's advice here. Enjoy and until next time, be prepared for the best.

This is how the Law of Giving and Receiving works.

Giving is the other side of receiving.
Therefore if you wish to receive anything in your life, you first need to give it.
It is that simple.
If you wish happiness, simply give happiness to the people around you.
If you wish love, simply give love.
If you wish friendships, joy or abundance simply give it to the people around you and you will receive loads of it.

When you withhold your giving, you are withholding your source of abundance.
You are stopping the flow of your own energy and you suffocate.
No wonder I felt joyless and dead when I stopped giving.
Sounds a little too easy, doesn't it?

Where's the catch?

The catch is that you have to give without expecting anything in return.
Giving for the sake of giving.
Only then the flow begins.
The intention behind the giving is the most important.
The intention has to be for the creation of happiness, harmony, peace and joy, as these are fundamental to life.

The reward will be there when you give from your heart and without condition.
Giving should be a joyful act, just as a child bringing a flower to his mother.
Albert Schweitzer said, "The one who gives is the one that receives most".
The easiest way to fulfill your wishes is by supporting others to achieve their wishes.

This principle is true to individuals, organizations, businesses and nations.
If you wish to be blessed with all the good things in life, learn to give a blessing to all that surrounds you.
Even a thought and silent blessing has the power to start the flow of giving and receiving.
Start practicing the Law of Giving and Receiving and watch your life become abundant and joyful.

Christmas Abundance Story

Here is a little Christmas story you might enjoy as the holidays are rapidly approaching. If I don't post again before Christmas--which I probably won't because it's only 3 days away--have a wonderful holiday!

Bob's Holiday Miracle

By Rebecca Fine

"Can I really do this?" Bob asked himself. After all, he'd never even laid eyes on the woman and her two daughters until a few minutes ago, when he'd pulled into the gas station to fill up the tank.

He'd barely glanced at the rustbucket sitting on the other side of the pumps, hood up. Guess she's having some car trouble, he thought as he swiped his credit card and started the gasoline flowing. Lucky it didn't happen out on the highway or on some deserted road in all this rain ...

"Excuse me," came the voice from behind him, startling him out of his idle wondering. The woman smiled a bit nervously and said, "Could you please give us a jump start? The battery seems to be dead."

"Sure," he answered. "I guess so." It's really only a few minutes out of my day, Bob told himself. No big deal. "Let me just get my jumper cables out of the trunk," he said.

A few minutes later, though, it was clear that the situation was going to require more than a simple jump start. "Well," Bob told the woman, "looks like you're going to need a new battery. This one seems to be shot."

The woman's face fell. "Oh," she said softly. "I'm up here from California with my two girls and I don't know what we'll do. I don't know anyone here, and I just don't have the money for a battery. Well, thank you for trying."

Bob stood there in the glare of the station's fluorescent lights, and although what happened next took only a moment, it seemed much longer to him. This isn't just an annoyance, he told himself; this is an opportunity. An opportunity to really PRACTICE what I've been focusing on — a chance to put my faith in abundance into some real action. A chance to do something for someone else that really matters. And a chance to see if I really do have faith in abundance after all.

But maybe it's some kind of scam and she's a con artist just trying to get money out of unsuspecting "good Samaritans" while they're in a holiday mood. Who knows?

Then his thoughts swung back the other way again: Well, it'll be around $100. That's a significant amount of money. It's not that I can't afford it, but it's not exactly like I have extra hundred dollar bills just lying around either, or no other obligations. It'll be a pinch, but ... should I just DO it? Can I? Giving big chunks of money to a total stranger in need — that's not me. At least not the OLD me. But ...

And then Bob heard the words coming out of his mouth: "Look, it's Christmas. Why don't I just buy you a new battery as a gift so we can get you and your girls back on the road?"

"Oh!" The woman's hand flew to her mouth as tears welled up. "Oh, I don't know. That's so kind of you, but it's so much to ask."

"You didn't ask," Bob said. "Let's just go inside and see what they've got." A little embarrassed, he looked down and absently toyed with the battery cables. Hmm, that's odd, he thought. I don't remember the cables being loose. But they were — loose enough that the clamps twisted around on the battery terminals.

"Thank you," the woman said softly. "But let's just try it one more time," she added, and climbed back into her car. Why not? Bob thought, and stepped back to give her the OK.

You've already guessed it by now, haven't you, Gentle Reader? She turned the key and her car started right up!

But that's not Bob's Holiday Miracle, although it probably seemed like one to the woman and her daughters. Bob's REAL Holiday Miracle happened the moment he let go of his old habitual (and usually unconscious) belief in scarcity and took action based on his new faith in abundance.

What Bob learned that cold, wet day — just two days ago — was simply that we ALWAYS have faith and that we always act in accordance with that faith. Faith isn't something we have to acquire. It's just that most of us, most of the time are putting every ounce of our faith into the idea of scarcity rather than abundance and into the belief that whatever can go wrong, will. We can then tend to demonstrate and focus our thought and emotions on THAT faith by uselessly worrying about, well, about virtually everything! (Can't we?)

As the 19th-century American writer and humorist Mark Twain so wonderfully put it, "I am a very old man and have suffered a great many misfortunes, most of which never happened."

The rest of Bob's Holiday Miracle was learning that simply being WILLING — willing to believe and willing to act — was the key (the key that actually started the car!).

You see, my friend, the old saying about giving gifts really is true: It's the THOUGHT that counts!

Three Success Keys of Attaining Your Heart's Desires

Here's an article I found helpful and I hope you do too. And I also hope you can take some time to relax and enjoy these busy holiday times.

Three success keys of attaining your heart's desires
By: Basavaraj Udapudi

The one thing that is required to accomplish something worthwhile in life is FOCUS - the ability to hold the imagination of your desire, against all odds, putting forth every effort towards its attainment. Such an activity embodies three powerful keys of attainment as follows.

1) First desire what you want as intensively as you can. The very first requisite for attaining a target is that you must have a burning desire for it. There is a world of difference between a wish and a desire. Wishing is a feeble longing for something. "I wish I had time enough to do so and so'' You wish it but don't strive for the target of your wish and naturally you conveniently forget all about it as soon as the wishful longing passes away. Or at best you give it a half-hearted try and leave it somewhere in between. On the contrary a desire is an intense urge, dire hunger, a persistent tension from which you cannot escape except working for its fulfilment with all your might and strength. So, desire -intense desire-is the first requisite for achieving anything worthwhile. The person with intense desire for his objective thinks day and night, how he can achieve it and accordingly works for it with persistence and perseverance till his desire is fulfilled.

2) Maintain your focus on the target. Focus is sustained imagination of your desire using affirmations. The most effective way to maintain focus on your target is through REPETITION. It doesn't mean doing affirmations all day long.

a) Doing affirmations before you start your day and again when you are ending your day are great. If you have problems during the day that put you on a negative level, do more affirmations. Using this tool during critical periods of doubt can help get you through. Each time you do affirmations, you re-focus your mind to boost your moral and keep you going positively.

b) Manifesting your reality-This means realizing that everything you think, believe or feel, plays a major part in following through with anything you are. What you think determines your reality. The universal principles of life, such as the ones described in the e-book (Success Wisdom) will ALWAYS work, if you just follow through.

c) Monitor Your Emotions-In order to send out the positive vibrations that is an integral part of success, your emotions have to be in check. Feelings that are negative shine above the positive. Negative vibrations are created that send out the wrong message. Attracting the right kind people to help you complete your goal is impossible if the vibrations you are sending are negative. The Astral Color Alchemy Process, (as described in Success-Wisdom e-book) is an effective method to use to eliminate the negative thinking. Thinking of your goals, repeating your affirmations, or remembering a pleasant memory from the past that made you feel really good works for many. You may have to think of some event that was enjoyable or something that made you grateful. Creating positive feelings and emotions about your journey to your "burning desire" will make your trip easier. Put yourself back in sync with your goals in order to continue to gain ground on a positive, progressive level.

3. Drive is the power to continue to move forward from wishing to reaching the object of your desire. Your subconscious has the power to endure the rigors of getting what you want. You help create that power. Nothing in life happens without action. Wishing by itself won't make it happen. It takes following through and keeping the finish line in sight for success to happen.

Another Energy Healing Option

Here is something that I found very helpful in clearing the old emotions and beliefs that keep us from abundance. If you like this, you can visit http://www.zensightprocess.com for more information about this easy healing technique. Hope you find it helpful.

An Introduction to Zensight
by Carol Ann Rowland, MSW, RSW

What if you could heal yourself of concerns gently and easily, simply by picturing your concerns and allowing them to heal and transform? What if simply seeing yourself being free of these concerns – and experiencing the feelings, thoughts and behaviors that you would like to have instead - had a very real impact upon your emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual health? What if the healing effects that occurred took place on a very deep and permanent level?

The good news is that you can.

Zensight is a self-help energy healing technique created by a psychotherapist who specializes in trauma. Zensight is designed to be gentle, easy to use and of benefit to anyone.

Zensight combines aspects of a variety of other energy healing techniques such as Be Set Free Fast (BSFF), Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), and Universal healing energy, together with elements of Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) and Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP).

Emphasizing the use of visualization together with “healing statements” and focused intent, Zensight activates and engages the energy system and both hemispheres of the brain. Many people experience signs of increased brain activity, such as vivid dreams and imagery, and enhanced visual and auditory acuity, during or after Zensight sessions.

Zensight begins with the selection of a healing symbol. Examples of a possible healing symbol are an image of the ocean, a word such as “release”, or a favourite colour. Anything that is chosen as a healing symbol is fine as long as there are no strong negative emotional connotations to it.

The identified concern is then focused upon, as well as any “picture” that comes up in connection with it. The picture is allowed to transform while alternating focus upon the healing symbol. As needed, the process is supported with the use of verbal healing statements.

What follows is an excerpt from a 30 minute Zensight session with “Verity”. Verity is a woman in her early 40’s. She discussed at the start of the session, a few issues that she wanted to resolve, the most central of which was some chronic pain she had been having in her left hip for the past few years. The pain had been treated through chiropractic care and had gotten better at times but had been worse lately, enough so that it made her feel unable to be as active as she usually would be.

If you focus on these current concerns, is there a picture that comes up for you in relation to them?

Yes...it’s connected with the ability to move forward. There is this image of myself and this energetic wall of ice or glass – it keeps me from moving forward.

What I’d like you to do is just focus on that image, and connect with your healing symbol, and just notice what happens as you do so.

The picture just changes automatically. The wall instantly dissolves and melts. My left leg – the side that has been hurting – just leaps forward - kind of like a ballerina.

Okay. Just focus on that and use your healing symbol.

Amazing! All of the pain in my hip has disappeared! I have a sense of feeling boundless and joyful. I see myself dancing! It’s the dance of life.

If you focus on your left hip now, is there any pain left?

No…there is no pain at all. It kind of feels like there is an “awareness” there of pain that had been there before. However, the pain itself has gone.

“I heal any and all energetic imprint left in this left hip or in any other area of my body, in relation to any of these issues.”

Now picture some healing light going into that area of your body. Is there any sensation left there at all?

No – it just feels wonderful.

We then went on to address two emotional concerns she had also been experiencing.

At the close of the session, Verity mentioned a visual image that had been occurring in the background as we worked. She described seeing a set of blueprints layered over one another and over her hip bone. As she watched, she saw these layers simply flutter up and fly away, until they had fully released and were gone.

At follow up three months later, Verity reported that the hip pain and the emotional concerns that we had addressed were still completely resolved.

Synchronicity

I recently read about synchronicity working with the law of attraction and when you want or need something in your life, it will come to you somehow. I love when this happens as it just did to me yesterday. For the past few days my husband has been suffering with back pain and has had a hard time getting around. Also yesterday my daughter developed a severe diaper rash--the worst she's ever had--with bleeding and screaming every time it was time to give her a change. Nothing pains me more than seeing one of my kids in pain. Anyway, yesterday I was catching up on my e-mail and came across the EFT Insights Newsletter which just happened to have an article about curing diaper rash through surrogate tapping. The same newsletter also contained an article about a newcomer to EFT who used it to tap away back pain that had plagued her for 14 years.

That is what I call synchronicity. I surrogate tapped for my daughter and at first I didn't notice much of a difference. But today her rash is just about gone. It usually lasts for days, especially when it gets that bad. I told my husband to tap on his back pain last night and today he's getting around almost as good as normal. EFT never ceases to amaze me. What does though, is that I always seem to forget to apply it to everything. Why not? It works most of the time. And it only takes a few minutes so there really is nothing to lose. If you don't know about EFT or haven't tried it yet, check out my side bar under "Things I've Tried That Work." Click on the EFT link. For those of you who know about EFT, I'm sure this is not news. It's really a great way to feel better and I find new uses for it all the time. There are more recent discoveries that I'll get to in a future post. I just wanted to show how the law of attraction is always working. I wanted to help my loved ones feel better and I found a way at the exact time I needed it.

Lately I've been making a strong effort to stay in the vibration of my desires. And I think I'm succeeding and this proves it. By the way, I've been able to align myself with the higher vibrations by using EFT as well. Check out the website. You'll find a wealth of information on how to use it with the law of attraction as well as many other helpful uses.

Until next time, be prepared for the best!

Here is another Daily Om about clearing your energy. It's tempting to let a bad day get us down, but it's good to know that we don't have to and can start fresh any time we want. Enjoy.

November 26, 2007
Brand-New Day
Inner Sunrise
When today is not going well, it is tempting to focus on tomorrow as a blank slate with all the possibilities that newness provides. It is true that tomorrow will be a brand-new day, but we do not have to wait until tomorrow to start fresh. We can start fresh at any moment, clearing our energy field of any negativity that has accumulated, and call this very moment the beginning of our brand-new day.

There is something about the sunrise and the first few hours of the morning that make us feel cleansed and rejuvenated, ready to move forward enthusiastically. As the day wears on, we lose some of this dynamic energy and the inspiration it provides. This may be why we look forward to tomorrow as providing the possibility of renewal. Many traditions consider the light of the rising sun to be particularly divine in its origins; this is why so many people in the world face east when performing ritual. We too can cultivate that rising sun energy inside ourselves, carrying it with us to light our way through any time of day or night, drawing on its power to awaken and renew our spirits.

One simple way to do this is to carry an image or a photograph of the rising sun with us in our wallet or purse. We can also post this image on our wall at work or at home, or have it as our screensaver on our computer. When we feel the need to start fresh, we can take a moment to gaze at the image, allowing its light to enter into our hearts. As we do this, we might say out loud or quietly to ourselves, I am ready to let go of the past and start anew. We might visualize anything we want to release leaving us as we exhale, and as we inhale, we can take in the fresh energy of the eastern sun, allowing it to light the way to a brand-new day.

More On Being Thankful

Here is a message from The Daily Om that really sends the thankful message home better than I can, so I'm posting it here. I keep seeing this same message about being grateful even when things aren't going as well as you'd like. If only we can remember this when we need it most.

November 22, 2007
Beyond Counting Blessings
Being Truly Thankful
Often when we practice being thankful, we go through the process of counting our blessings, acknowledging the wonderful people, things and places that make up our reality. While it is fine to be grateful for the good fortune we have accumulated, true thankfulness stems from a powerful comprehension of the gift of simply being alive, and when we feel it, we feel it regardless of our circumstances. In this deep state of gratitude, we recognize the purity of the experience of being, in and of itself, and our thankfulness is part and parcel of our awareness that we are one with this great mystery that is life.

It is difficult for most of us to access this level of consciousness as we are very caught up in the ups and downs of our individual experiences in the world. The thing to remember about the world, though, is that it ebbs and flows, expands and contracts, gives and takes, and is by its very nature somewhat unreliable. If we only feel gratitude when it serves our desires, this is not true thankfulness. No one is exempt from the twists and turns of fate, which may, at any time, take the possessions, situations, and people we love away from us. Ironically, it is sometimes this kind of loss that awakens us to a thankfulness that goes deeper than just being grateful when things go our way. Illness and near-miss accidents can also serve as wake-up calls to the deeper realization that we are truly lucky to be alive.

We do not have to wait to be shaken to experience this state of being truly thankful for our lives. Tuning in to our breath and making an effort to be fully present for a set period of time each day can do wonders for our ability to connect with true gratitude. We can also awaken ourselves with the intention to be more aware of the unconditional generosity of the life force that flows through us regardless of our circumstances.

What Are You Thankful For?

At the risk of sounding like a cliche, I'm going to put that question out to you today since tomorrow most of us in the US will be celebrating Thanksgiving by stuffing ourselves with turkey and mashed potatoes. I don't know about you, but I tend to get caught up in all the dinner prep and worrying about what to wear and who'll be at dinner to remember to be thankful for all the things that matter. That is, up until now. Today I realize how grateful I am for my kids. Even though they make my life "challenging" sometimes and keep me busy and occasionally a little frustrated, I love them more than anything and I am literally blessed to have them in my life. I'm also grateful that I have a house with beautiful property that we bought before the real estate boom--meaning we could almost afford it. We live in the northeast where the home prices are over inflated to the point where in RI, you need to make at least $48,000 to afford to buy at the low end of the market. So, I am always grateful that we bought this house when we did. It's a beautiful place to live. There are a great many more things I have to be thankful for, but I'm not going to list them all here. These are the ones that are really important to me.

Yesterday I found out I was in charge of making mashed potatoes for our family Thanksgiving dinner at my sister's house tomorrow. I've never made them before and now I have to make them for 25 people. My husband is the cook here (another reason to be grateful), but he has to work tomorrow, so I have to fill in. I was rather alarmed at first, but now I see it as an opportunity to learn something new. I'm grateful to have a place to go and celebrate as well as enjoy a delicious meal. Not everyone has that option. But even those that don't have a warm meal to share with family and friends will find something to be thankful for if they look. Your health or the roof over your head or even getting a day off of work--if you're lucky enough to have it. Seek and you shall find. I know, another cliche. I didn't say I was grateful for my originality.

Anyway, I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving day and keep in mind all the many reasons you have to be thankful.

Until next time, be prepared for the best.

Live Like The Red Sox

My favorite team won The World Series in the same fashion they did three years ago. After losing the first three games, they had one more chance to keep their season alive in the playoffs. Most people had given up on them, fans included, even though they were in the exact same position the last time they were in the playoffs. I didn't give up because I knew if they could do it before they could do it again. And they went on to win the next seven games to take The World Series. It was almost surreal yet expected at the same time. Though, that last game was a real nail biter as they won 4-3.

What does The Red Sox winning The World Series have to do with Acquiring Abundance? They have a winning attitude that got them where they are. If we could just do the same with all our goals, who knows what we might accomplish. It's so easy to give up when the odds are against you. Take my online store for example. I've yet to make a sale--except to myself because I love my stuff--but I'm not giving up. Though it is tempting at times since I don't have anything to show for all the work I've put into my cards and designs, but I do feel that it's worth my time because I enjoy it. And I believe sending gratitude cards will help get positive energy moving in the right direction for me and anyone else who tries it. It is hard sometimes, but I keep thinking about The Red Sox, my hometown heroes. They don't care what others think of them. They only go out and do their best. I remember Manny Ramirez saying in an interview during the playoffs that if they didn't win, it was no big deal. People ripped him apart over that, but I do think it's the right attitude. If you think that your whole life is ruined because you fail at something, then you're just going to cave and not keep trying. Believe me, I've been there many times. If I can just relax and go with the flow while doing the best I can, I'll be okay. Most likely, better than okay.

We all have the power to be like The Red Sox. When things look bad, don't give up, yet don't think that you're a total failure if you lose a few along the way. Manny and the boys from Boston have so much fun doing what they love so they see great results. I want to live like The Red Sox.

Til next time, be prepared for the best.

Energy Sweeping

Here is another issue of The Daily Om I found fascinating and I like to pass along anything that has to do with energy clearing and making room for abundance. I'm definitely going to try this and see if it works. Enjoy.

November 5, 2007
Releasing and Welcoming
Energetic Sweeping
In some of our lives, sweeping has become an activity performed without much thought. In many cases, sweeping is a lost art, replaced by the noisy, efficient vacuum cleaner. But in several cultures and religions, sweeping the front and back porch every morning is regarded as an important cleansing ritual that prepares the ground for new energy on every level—physically, spiritually, emotionally, and mentally. It is often employed to sanctify a space and prepare it for a ceremony. This seemingly simple action has the power to clear away the old and make space for the new. It stirs up the energy in a place, clearing out the astral buildup that is the natural by-product of the presence of humans.

This kind of sweeping is not about cleaning the area of dust. In fact, the broom doesn’t have to actually touch the ground to be effective. You might want to consider having two different brooms, one you use for cleaning dust and dirt, and one you use for energy clearing. If you are so inspired, you could decorate your broom by carving its handle, painting it, decorating it with gemstones and ribbons, or any other creative adornment that appeals to you. You can also make your own broom out of tree branches and twigs, or choose a naturally appearing broom from nature, such as a pine bough.

Sweeping each morning prepares the ground for the new day at the same time as it deepens our awareness of the importance of letting go of the past to welcome the present. As we clear the energy of our space, we clear our own energy systems. In addition, we create a space that feels clean, clear, and open to all who enter. Be sure to think welcoming thoughts as you sweep, manifesting what you need for the day. Making sweeping part of our daily ritual tunes us into the continuing cycle of releasing the old and welcoming the new that is the hallmark of a healthy energy system.

Be Open to Abundance

Here is another Daily Om that really hit home for me. I hope it helps you too.

Softening And Expanding
Being Receptive To What You Want
In order to get what we want in life, we have to be willing to receive it when it appears, and in order to do that we have to be open. Often we go through life with defenses we developed early on in order to protect ourselves. These defenses act as barriers, walls we needed at one time to feel safe, but that now serve to shut out desired influences, like intimacy or love. So an essential part of being receptive to what we want is to soften these barriers enough to let those things in when they show up. For example, we may spend a lot of time alone as a way to protect ourselves from being hurt by other people, but we can see how this is now preventing us from meeting new friends.

Another obstacle to our receptivity can be our tendency to believe that we have to act aggressively in order to achieve our desired goal. This can cause us to become mono-focused and to fail to see, and be open to, opportunities on the periphery of our vision. So becoming receptive involves a softening of our defenses and a willingness to remain open to possibilities outside our immediate realm of vision. If we are looking for love or friendship, it means first looking within ourselves to see where we are shut down, and second, not getting too fixated on where we might find the love we want. In this way, we become more open as individuals and more expansive in terms of what we see as possible.

Often, the things and people we want to draw into our lives elude us because we are unconsciously blocking them out, either with our defenses, or with tunnel vision that causes us to not see them when they appear. When this is the case, we can take action by exploring and softening our barriers, and expanding our vision to encompass new possibilities. These actions are the essence of receptivity.

Unblocking The Path

Yesterday my daughter was struggling with her toy and asked me to help her. She was trying to get her toy lion out of another toy she had put it in previously. It's one of those circle/ramp things where you put different balls in and they roll down the ramps and out the bottom. But the balls were getting stuck because my two year-old thinks it's okay to put other toys in the round holes where the balls go. So now I'm on my hands and knees struggling to get that lion out so the toy will work again. I finally dislodged the ball that got caught behind it, but that lion wouldn't budge. Then I noticed that the legs moved so if I could just change their position so they'd take up less space I could free it. After almost giving up, I finally pulled it out, much to my daughter's delight. Now the toy works properly and she's got the lion to play with again too. What does this have to do with acquiring abundance? As I was pulling on that lion to dislodge it, I started thinking about how it's the same with our energy and vibrations. No matter how much we fill up on positive thinking, if there is still some negativity hidden deep down inside, that positive energy will get stuck and our natural flow is disrupted.

That's why clearing out the negativity is so important so we can make way for the good energy we want to help us create the life we want. It sounds so simple but sometimes that negativity is so ingrained in our brains, it's really hard to get rid of permanently. At least for some of us. Every time I think I'm free and clear, I get blocked again. Thank God I have the script and even better, EFT to clear out old beliefs and start running smoothly again. I was really stuck in a rut this morning before doing a few rounds of EFT to get clear again. It's amazing how fast it works. Sometimes I think I'll never get this Law of Attraction working for me but then I remember I have EFT to get me back on track. It's like a miracle. And since I've started using it, all the aches and pains I used to suffer have subsided tremendously. I highly recommend it to try on anything. For more information on that, check my sidebar for "Things I've Tried That Worked."

So that's it for today. Another little metaphor brought to you courtesy of my two year-old daughter. So simple, yet why aren't more of us living the life we want? It takes work, patience and persistence. But we can clear the path to abundance and use tools like EFT to move obstacles whenever they inevitably pop up.

Until next time, be prepared for the best.

A Clear Current

Here is another excellent example of clearing that I've posted so many times about here. This is from The Daily Om and right on target. Enjoy and remember there are many ways to get clear. One way is to use EFT. Check the link in my side bar under things I've tried that worked--it does.

A Clear Current
Maintaining The Flow
The essence of all being is energy. Our physical and ethereal selves depend on the unrestricted flow of life energy that is the source of wholeness and wellness. Though the channels through which this energy flows are open systems and influenced by factors outside of our control, we ultimately choose what impact these will have in our lives. It is up to us to identify and clear blockages in the energy field to ensure that flow is maintained. A healthy, grounded individual absorbs some portion of the energy emitted by other people and the environment, but this does not interrupt the continuous stream of balanced energy sustaining them. The same individual copes constructively with stress and upset, and they are not subject to the stagnation that frequently goes hand in hand with negativity. When we keep the energy in and around our bodies flowing harmoniously, we are naturally healthy, vibrant, and peaceful.

Life energy flows through us like a swift stream when there is nothing to obstruct it, but various forces such as trauma, downbeat vibrations, and disappointments act like stones that impede the current. If we allow these to pile up, our life energy is thrown off its course or blocked entirely, causing illness, restlessness, and a lack of vigor. If, however, we take the time to clear these forces away, we rob them of the power to impact our lives. When we cultivate simple yet affirmative habits such as taking regular cleansing baths, practicing meditation and breathing exercises, smudging, and self-shielding, we protect ourselves from outside influences that might otherwise impede our energy flow. Likewise, we lessen the impact of inner influences when we clear our auras of unwanted attachments and divest ourselves of blocked emotions.

A strong and fluid energy field is the key that unlocks the doors of self-healing and peace of mind. Your awareness of the flow of energy sustaining you empowers you to take charge of your own well-being by taking steps to unblock, correct, and enhance that flow. Fear will likely be the culprit when you cannot identify the source of stagnation—you may simply be afraid to let go of what is obstructing the flow. Letting go can be challenging, but the exuberance you will feel when the flow is restored will be a welcome and blessed reward.

Angels of Abundance

Here is an interesting story from beliefnet.com about abundance that I really enjoyed reading and I hope you do too.

When our mortal eyes close on this world for the last time, our angels open our spiritual eyes and escort us personally before the face of God.

Seeing The Good

Here is another Daily Om I want to share with you. Enjoy and have a happy holiday weekend.

October 5, 2007
Gazing Upon Goodness
The Importance Of Seeing The Good In All
Our perception shapes the lives we lead because the universe adjusts itself almost instantly to our expectations. When we look for negativity, we are bound to come across it in abundance. Conversely, we create positive energy when we endeavor to see the goodness around us. As easy as it is to criticize the people and situations that frustrate or hurt us, we do ourselves a disservice in the process. It is important to see the good in all as there are blessings hiding in every aspect of our outer-world reality, and the potential for grace exists in all human beings. When our lives are flooded with challenges, grief, and pain, we may be tempted to believe that some individuals or incidents are simply bad. But if we look for the good in all, good reveals itself to us, easing our doubts and reminding us that the universe is a place of balance.

There is a perceptible energetic shift that takes place when we choose to see the good in all. The unnecessary tension that came into being when we dwelled on negativity fades away and is replaced by sympathetic tolerance. We can forgive those that have wronged us because we recognize in them traits we admire, and we may even discover that we can bring out the good in one another. Though loss still grieves us, we recognize the beginning of a new phase of existence that abounds with fresh opportunities. Each new challenge becomes another chance to prove ourselves, and we learn to show great patience in the face of difficulty. There are few pleasures greater than gazing outward and seeing beauty, wisdom, and harmony. These are the attributes of the universe that help us to cope when we encounter their opposing forces.

Since you create your reality, you make your world a better place each time you acknowledge the good in your circumstances and in the people you encounter. As you draw attention to the positive aspects of the world around you, your understanding of the affirmative nature of all existence will grow. There are few lessons you will learn in this life that will prove as instrumental to your happiness and satisfaction. In appreciating the all pervasive goodness that exists in the universe, you internalize it, making it a lasting part of your life.

Achieving A High Vibration

This is today's Daily Om, which I thought I'd share because it ties in so well with things I've been blogging about. Enjoy and good vibrations!

October 3, 2007To Rise AboveAchieving A High Vibration
All matter is made up of energy, and that energy is in motion continually. Everything in the universe, from the smallest molecules to the most complex living beings, has an optimal rate of vibration to keep it healthy. We reach this high vibrational level when we are whole, healthy, and fulfilling our potential. Human beings are able to consciously control these vibrations within themselves using a variety of techniques. We know when we have reached a high vibrational state because we feel good and can sense that we are aligned with all that is. We find we are capable of healing and have good intuition and perception that are a result of our resonating closer and closer to our ideal frequencies. Thoughts, emotions, intentions, choices, and actions contribute to our vibrational state, as do the environments we inhabit. Affirmative activities that leave us feeling joyous, appreciative, loving, and peaceful raise our vibration. Constructive, creative, and expansive thoughts do the same. When we cultivate habits that contribute to our physical health and strength, our vibration is likewise raised. Certain mantra meditations, breathing exercises, and chants are designed to increase vibration. But simply practicing gratitude and forgiveness, surrounding ourselves with loving high-vibration people, eating whole foods, and spending time in nature can also help us transcend our current vibrational limitations. When your desire for change is strong enough, you will find yourself gravitating toward what can help you achieve and maintain a high vibrational state. A positive outlook will then become the most important tool you possess, and this outlook will sustain you when the path leading toward transformation is wide and winding. As you evolve, your vibrational frequency will also evolve, aiding you in the creation of an even higher reality. Consciously and unconsciously, you will attract auspicious circumstances and positive people that will help you continue exploring the scope of your higher self until you move beyond the earthly plane.

Feeling The Feeling

I finally get it. I've been visualizing my clear mental image of what I want for months now and trying to feel how I'll feel when I finally get it. But no matter how hard I tried before, I just couldn't feel that excitement and enthusiasm and sense of achievement that would come along with living my dreams. Until today. I finally felt the excitement and it changed my whole mood and vibration. While meditating, I visualized something a bit different from the usual and it really clicked. Like maybe this is really meant to be. If it feels this good, then it must be right for me. I can't wait to do this again before bed and I'm going to try to remember to do it again before I get up in the morning. Sometimes I can't remember to do anything before or after I get out of bed, either because I'm still in a sleepy fog, or because I'm being beckoned by my kids. But if I awake before they do, I'm going to give it a shot because I think my whole day will go well if I start off with this feeling. It's kind of hard to describe unless you've already felt it. Just a great sense of well-being. And that puts you in alignment with abundance.

Everyone familiar with The Secret--and who isn't by now?--knows that it's much more than getting that clear picture in your mind of what you want. You've got to feel it and have faith that it is already yours. And now I get it and I'm so grateful. Any time I start to lose that enthusiasm or excitement I'll just conjure up that image. It's working again just thinking about it for a few seconds. Give it a try. Just think of something you'd like to happen and get inside the image. Don't see yourself inside it, just be in it as if it were happening now. Feel the excitement and joy. Then go about your day as if it's already happened. It works, though it may take some time like it did for me. But I think it worked out that way for a reason. My CMI is meant to be. And writing about it also makes it clearer for me.

I also want to thank you for your comments. Most of them are extremely helpful. I hope I can return the favor. Thank you for reading.

Until next time, be prepared for the best!

Celebrate Your Birthday

Yesterday I had another birthday but I didn't celebrate it. As I woke up this morning, I realized I should have. Birthdays have always been a bit difficult for me and I think it's because I'd always get my expectations so high and then be let down when they weren't met. I would forget that it's just another day to everyone else. So I've come to expect to be let down. And no matter what happens, I feel disappointed by it. So much so that I've sabotaged almost every birthday I can remember for the past twenty or more years. There were a few happy ones in there I'm sure, but I don't remember those. I only remember the bad ones. And I know now that it's my fault they weren't memorable--at least in a good way.

I vow to make next year different. I'm going to celebrate my birthday no matter what even if I have to bake a cake for myself. If you knew me you'd be laughing. I've never baked anything in my life. My mother bakes all the birthday cakes for all the grand kids so my siblings and I have all lucked out there. For some reason that baking gene obviously skipped a generation. Anyway, yesterday I pretty much spent the day alone. My husband took the kids to the supermarket and then to the park. I got some much needed alone time, but I also realized that's not what I really needed on this particularly day. Though I didn't complain because that's what he thought I wanted. The night before I'd told him not to even give me a card--we were fighting. Something I tend to do right around my birthday, therefore making sure I won't enjoy it. It is also only a week after my brother's funeral, so I just wasn't feeling like celebrating. Next year will be different because birthdays are special and everyone deserves to have a good time on theirs.

And why wait? Celebrate every day. I've decided to enjoy this day more than yesterday--even though I enjoyed yesterday as best as I could. I want to have a good time every day from now on. Life is too short to spend it bickering and being disappointed because things didn't work out the perfect you wanted them to. Things always work out anyway. And if you know someone who could use a reminder to celebrate, you can send them a card to remind them they're not alone. Check out my gratitude cards at http://cafepress.com/karmicbulldog. I created them because I know how much I appreciate cards--especially unexpected cards. And others do too. Send someone a smile and make two people's day--giving feels even better than receiving.

Til next time, be prepared for the best!

Focus On Serving The Universe

It's been a while since my last post. My brother died last Friday and I haven't had any words of wisdom to pass along. Today I read an interview with Wayne Dyer on Beliefnet and wanted to share part of it because I found it very interesting. And maybe it will give you some insight on how to use The Secret to your advantage. For more of his words of wisdom, you can click on the link at the end of this interview.

How can changing your thoughts change your life?
You Can Change How the World Looks at YouThey say when you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change. Einstein once said that the most important decision you'll ever have to make in your life is whether you live in a friendly universe or a hostile universe. And if you're a person who believes that you live in a hostile universe, you're going to be looking for that. You're going to be experiencing that. You'll be seeing it everywhere. You'll become a person who's always looking for occasions to be upset or to be offended or to be hurt, or depressed, or sad, or right, or whatever. If you live in a world that you believe supports you, and is friendly and is there for you, and is bringing you all that you need at any given moment, and all the experiences that you have are perfect, if you just really believe that, then, the things that you don't like you'll just be able to ignore, and the world looks very, very different. Since so much of your work has been about the law of attraction, I wanted to ask what you think about "The Secret."
Why I Turned Down Filming'The Secret'I'm thrilled that the book sales have been so great on this thing. It's really brought people to a new awareness of the power of the mind to create what you want. The reason I wasn't in that movie--I was asked to be--is that I think too much of the emphasis is on manifesting stuff. Manifesting more things. Nothing wrong with stuff and things and so on. But to me the great secret is that when you're giving, when you put your attention on what you really want and then shift to [asking] "How can I offer this to others rather than seeking it for myself?" That's the ultimate secret—the more you give, the more you receive. I wrote a book about the secret long before "The Secret." It's called "Manifest Your Destiny," and it's really much, much more about putting your focus on serving. Like, if you say to the universe, "How may I serve," the universe responds back with, "How may I serve you?" If you say to the universe, "Give this to me," you're coming from a position of shortage or lack. If you say to the universe, "Gimme, gimme, gimme," the universe says back to you what you ask for, which is, "Gimme, gimme, gimme." And you're constantly feeling as if you're never given enough, you know? So, is there an ideal way to ask for what we want?
Focus on Serving the UniverseI think the best way to ask for what you want is to say, "How many I serve?" I have a rule with myself. Which is that I start out every day by doing something for somebody else that they're usually not expecting, whether it's one of my family members or, oftentimes, it's people from around the world--somebody wants me to call them in the hospital, or I send a book or a gift. And the opening words out of my mouth are, "Thank you" when I awaken. I have found that the more I'm able to offer and give as much as I possibly can, that I can't even control how much flows into my life. It just comes in bigger and bigger.

Aligning With Abundance

I keep reading about how important it is for your goals to be aligned with your thoughts/feelings and I just figured mine are because I keep thinking about them and trying to feel how I'll feel when I achieve them, which I find much harder than thinking about them. As I was doing yoga this morning I think I finally figured out what all the books are referring to. My two year-old daughter was doing yoga with me and grabbed onto my leg--the same leg that was holding me up into my pose. Even though she was just holding onto it, not pulling or tugging, I felt my body coming out of alignment because my focus was taken away from my breathing and stretching and put onto my supporting leg. My point is that that I now understand what it means to have my thoughts and feelings aligned with my desires. If you're out of alignment, you're out of focus. If you have unresolved pain, anger, resentment, etc. from the past, you're not in alignment with your desires or abundance. And you may not even be aware of it--like I wasn't.

Now I realize why it's taking me so long to get what I want. My desires are not in alignment with abundance because of all my buried emotions that I need to resolve. That's where EFT and The Script come in handy. They're both great tools to get to the root of all those feelings that you might not even be aware of. And if you're not aware of them, how can you resolve them? I'm in the middle of reading "Feelings Buried Alive Never Die..." by Karol K. Truman. A while ago I wrote a post about The Script that I found in Joe Vitale's helpful book "The Attractor Factor." He has a wealth of resources listed in the back of that book and I have a feeling I'll be reading about these issues for a long time. But I also realize they weren't created overnight so they won't disappear overnight either. I've been so impatient waiting for something to happen. This book is helpful to deal with that impatience as well.

So I accept that I'm a work in progress and to get in alignment with abundance I not only have to clear myself of old negative feelings, emotions and beliefs, I need to replace those negative feelings with positive ones. Both The Script and EFT (look for info in my sidebar) are good for that, but it's going to take some time. At least for me. I've heard stories of people healing in only a few sessions, but most take at least a few weeks. The goal is to keep it up and keep up the faith. Then nothing is impossible.

Till next time, be prepared for the best!

Raising Your Vibrations

We all send out vibrations to the universe that attract similar vibrations back to you. Are your vibrations in alignment with your desires? What kind of things are showing up in your life? If you're sending out the wrong signals, you won't be getting what you want. I just listened to a podcast by EFT master, Carol Look, and feel so great, I have to share it. Go to http://eft-talk.com/ and listen to the Ultimate Abundance podcast and discover it for yourself. If you don't already know how to do basic EFT, click the link in my sidebar to visit the emotional freedom technique website and get basic instructions. If you do know it, just go and listen and tap along with Carol at the end of the recording. It's worth a listen even if you don't do the tapping--but I highly recommend it. I really feel like I have raised my vibrations to start attracting more abundance. Sometimes I get this relaxed feeling after getting an energy healing and sometimes all it takes is a couple of rounds of tapping. It's a tremendous release. Go ahead, try it. I hope you feel as good afterward as I do.

Until next time, be prepared for the best!

Smile!

Here are more words of wisdom from Beliefnet.com. This is so simple, yet so profound that I had to share it. As I read this I gave myself a mental slap on the forehead--duh! This is what has been missing from my positive thinking and progress. This also fits in with my last post about repeating the words "wealth, success." One reason I like doing that is because the words make your mouth form a smile. We could all use more smiles.

A Simple Way to Feel Good
Smiling changes your attitude, raises your confidence, and makes you more attractive.
By Devlyn Steele

As we rush through our busy days accomplishing our tasks—work, kids, shopping, cleaning, and eating on the go, we often complain that we don’t feel good. There is a simple, quick, and effective way that you can feel better throughout the day and also be more attractive. All you have to do is smile more. Smiling changes your attitude, whether you realize it or not. If you have any doubts, next time you feel down, start smiling and thinking positive thoughts and see what happens.
You can’t help but have a better attitude when you smile. Smiling also raises your confidence. Smiling affects our emotions because of a brain-body connection. It triggers scientifically measurable activity in the left frontal cortex—the area of the brain where happiness is registered. In fact, there is science dedicated to the study of facial expressions and responses called FACS – Facial Action Coding System. Your face has 44 muscles between the skin, cartilage, blood, and bone that you contort, flex, and move. This lets you make over 5000 different types of expressions. That’s a lot of expressions! And each will have a different affect on your feelings and those looking at you. Admit it, when someone is smiling aren’t you drawn in? Don’t you enjoy that person’s company more? We all do. Smiling is a very important part of connecting and getting to know someone. As your life-coach, I offer you this push. I want you to smile. Go ahead. “SMILE!” Great! Let’s do it again but this time breathe in through your nose, let it out through your mouth and smile as you let the air out. Doesn’t that feel good? The breathing is very important. Your nostrils are attached to the limbic system. The limbic system controls your emotions, and when you breathe in deep through your nose it has a calming effect on you. So breathe in and smile. Let’s add a final touch: “positive thinking.” It doesn’t hurt to get excited and say out loud to yourself, “I feel good and I am taking control and finding my opportunities!” Go ahead and do it. Feel that positive energy in your body and the release of tension. Now that you know how good smiling is for you, make a conscious effort to use this smile exercise a minimum of six times throughout your day. When you smile remember to breathe in through your nose and think positive thoughts. This I guarantee will make a positive impact on your day and in your life. In fact, the result from this simple exercise will have a huge effect. Here’s a basic fact about energy: it is attracted to energy of a similar frequency. So when you smile not only will you make yourself feel better, you will also attract positive energy into your life. So smile!

Isn't that great advice?

Want to know another way to attract positive energy into your life? Send smiles to other people. A great way to to that is to send cards to people every day. There's no need to wait for a holiday or special occasion. I have special gratitude cards and postcards in my online shop just for this purpose at http://cafepress.com/karmicbulldog. So what are you waiting for? Send somone a smile today!

Till next time, be prepared for the best!

Say Yes To Success

I want to pass on another little tidbit from the book, "The Power Of Your Subconscious Mind," by Dr. Joseph Murphy. There is a ton of useful information in that book but one that is so easy and fun is to just repeat the words "wealth, success," for about five minutes several times a day. I say it's fun because the words make your mouth form a smile--especially success. Go ahead, try it and see. And, according to the book, repeating the words will compel your subconscious to succeed. I do it while washing the dishes, cleaning and preparing meals. Those tasks didn't used to make me smile but they do now. I also keep the clear mental image in mind of what my life will be like once I'm rich and no longer need to do my own house cleaning.

Another tip is to repeat the word "wealth" over and over like a mantra to lull yourself to sleep. I've been doing this every night for about a week and it really works to get me to sleep. I don't know why it makes me sleepy, but it does. Though, it's not meant to be a sleep aide. It's supposed to get your subconscious to bring about wealth, and the best way to get messages to your subconscious mind is in a sleepy state. If you're struggling to find answers, ask your subconscious to reveal them right before you go to sleep. You may dream up the solutions or they may come upon awakening, but eventually you'll get the answers. I've done this successfully before and will continue to do so.

I still suggest you read the entire book to get the most benefits, but you can start with these and see if they help. I'm sure they will if you believe they will.

Until next time, be prepared for the best!

And while you're at it, visit my store at http://cafepress.com/karmicbulldog and get some gratitude cards to send to your friends, associates and loved ones. That's another way to bring more into your life to be grateful for.

Using Affirmations

I wanted to pass along this bit of information I read about at BeliefNet.com.

Affirmations are a simple tool we can use to feel better about ourselves. By repeating aloud or silently the positive things we want...Read more

I've used affirmations before and always felt pretty good while doing so. But then I seem to get off track and forget. Then I'll feel okay for a while, but my goals keep slipping further away and I wonder why. I think I really need to do the affirmations on a daily basis. Right now I'm using some that I found in the book, "The Power Of Your Subconscious Mind," by Dr. Joseph Murphy. I'm still reading it and suggest you read it too. It's fascinating how our subconscious is really capable of anything if we give it the right messages. And affirmations are one way to do it. If you repeat something enough, your subconscious makes a note and makes it real. There are many examples in this book that can only be described as miracles. I'm only half-way through and am looking forward to learning more. Meanwhile, I thought I would pass on the above link to give you some affirmations to help heal old wounds. I've written about it here before. We need to rid ourselves of all the junk and old beliefs that keep us from acquiring the abundance that we truly deserve.

I'll be back with more later, but try the affirmations. At the very least, they'll make you feel more confident. And confidence leads to other positive changes.

Until next time, be prepared for the best.

A Reason To Smile

I just got back from my cousin's funeral. He died two months to the day after my brother-in-law. They were both diagnosed with cancer within a couple of months of each other too. And my brother-in-law was 54. My cousin was 53. They also had similar types of cancer. Though my brother-in-law seemed to beat his and then had a stroke. But the point of this is not to wonder why some people live to be 100 and others get taken away much earlier. The point is that life goes on and I had a reminder of that in church today. There was a little girl--probably just a bit younger than my 2 year-old daughter--a couple of rows in front of us who kept turning around and smiling and making noise, as most kids her age do. Some people probably would have frowned on parents bringing such young children to a funeral, but I was so glad she was there. My kids were at home with my husband, and I was thankful I didn't have to drag them along, but at the same time, when I saw that girl it made me smile.

Usually I don't find anything to smile about during funerals, but I was grateful that I had a reason to today. First, my sister's cell phone rang--she thought she remembered to shut it off, but apparently forgot--and that brought me out of my second round of crying. Then as I was on the verge of tears again, the little girl made her happy noises and I smiled instead. It reminded me that life goes on and there will always be children to make us see why we have to go on even when things seem unbearable.

So next time you're somewhere in public and are disrupted by the cry of a baby or the high-pitched yell of a child, instead of wondering why their parents didn't leave them with a babysitter, remember to smile. Children know how to enjoy life. We can all take a lesson from them, have as much fun as possible and make the most of the time we have. You never know when it could be up.

Till next time. Be prepared for the best.

Be A Love Finder, Not A Fault Finder

This was the advice given to me by my energy therapist last night and I thought I'd pass it along. I have a tendency to be a perfectionist and as such, I can't help but find fault with just about everything. And I don't like this but it's something I've always had to live with--up until now. Those words, be a love finder, not a fault finder really made me laugh. I guess because it sounded silly at first. But the more I thought about it, the more sense it made to me. If I'm constantly finding fault with things, people, circumstances, I'm not fully enjoying what's good about them. Or the good things about myself. There is good in everyone and everything--if I choose to look for it. But I won't find it if I'm concentrating on what's wrong.

So today as I was cleaning the kitchen floor, which I always complain about because it seems to be a dirt magnet, instead of lamenting about my husband, dogs or kids bringing the dirt in, I said those words in my head. You're a love finder, not a fault finder. Even as I write this it makes me smile. Something about those words make me laugh. And if I'm laughing, I can't be complaining. It takes me out of the moment and makes me think about what's good, or why I love my family. This has been a helpful tool for me so far, and I intend to keep thinking of those words whenever I find something to criticize. It reminds me of all the things I have to be grateful for. As I'm sure you already know, the more gratitude you have, the more you'll attract into your life to be grateful for. And for some reason, the phrase makes me laugh. Maybe you will too. Why not give it a try? I hope you find it to be of benefit. If it doesn't work for you, why not try finding something else to make you laugh? It works. Laughing beats complaining every time.

Till next time, be prepared for the best!

Getting Clear

I'm finishing up "The Attractor Factor" by Joe Vitale and I highly recommend it. Right now I'm working on getting clear of all old beliefs that have held me back and kept me from acquiring wealth, health and happiness. Especially the wealth. This book has some great exercises that are easy to do, take only a few minutes and really work. My favorite one is The Script which was borrowed from the book "Feelings Buried Alive Never Die," by Karol Truman--another book on my to be read list. All you do is pick a belief you have that you want to be rid of and replace it with a new belief. You read the script out loud and it works. If you don't believe it will work, work on your belief that it won't work and replace it with the belief that it will. I found I have so many beliefs that have been ingrained into my head since early childhood that I need to repeat this exercise for each one. But it works and I'm still working on getting clear. You have to be clear in order to attract what you want. If there are any blocks, abundance can't reach you. EFT has helped a lot with that, but sometimes people don't realize what their beliefs are or that they're holding them back in the first place. So doing some EFT to try and get to the core beliefs that are getting in your way and then using the script would be ideal. But the book has other ways to get clear such as Karmic Surgery, which involves using yagyas. Yagyas have been used to perform genuine miracles. According to the book, you can get more information about them at http://www.jyotish-yagya.com. I haven't checked it out yet but I plan to when I finish the book.

I know this doesn't qualify as a miracle, but I read my scripts a few times yesterday to rid myself of old beliefs--especially my doubts that I can attract wealth. This morning as I got my daughter dressed I silently wished I could watch the Nascar race at Pocono today. Since I don't get cable TV, I haven't been able to watch many races this season. If you think I'm living in the dark ages because I don't have cable, I also have some friends who don't even own a TV. I guess their lives are full enough without being informed about the outside world. Anyway, as I was changing my daughter's diaper I just said that I'm sure somehow I'll be able to watch the races soon even though I don't know how. Then while listening to "Racing Rocks," with Ricky Rackman on the radio, my husband said he thought he heard that next season NBC would carry the races again. If you don't know, they used to carry the races up until this season. I could follow along a bit while they were on Fox, but then they switched over to TNT and now ESPN so I've been out of luck. But at least maybe I can watch them in the future. Then while I checked Nascar.com to see who was leading the race today, I see that they're now offering live free web casts of the races! I can watch Nascar again. Coincidence? Maybe, but I prefer to look it as a sign that I am manifesting what I want. It's a small manifestation, but it's a start. Once you start to believe good things are on the way to you, more come your way. So simple it's easy to dismiss. But don't. I'm glad I didn't.

Till next time, be prepared for the best! And if you haven't already, read "The Attractor Factor."

Changing My Mind Changed My Situation

It's been a while since my last post. Last week was a bad one for me. Let me rephrase that so it doesn't sound so negative; it was a healing week. I needed to take some time, namely yesterday, to heal with EFT (check the link in my sidebar.) I feel much better today. I also started reading "The Attractor Factor" by Joe Vitale. So far I like what I'm reading. I'll let you know how it works for me. The reason I was having such a bad week was because I let it get to me. My husband just wasn't measuring up to my standards and neither was my business--still no sales and my blog readership took a nose-dive. I was feeling like giving up on everything from my marriage to my online ventures. But I realized that just a tiny mental shift was all I needed to really turn things around.

I had a horrible fight with my husband last Tuesday and I thought I couldn't forgive him and kept thinking that I was finished and we were headed for a divorce. And the longer I kept that thought in my head the worse it seemed. Even he was starting to give up on the idea of a reconcilliation. But as soon as I changed my thought to "maybe this isn't so bad and we can work things out," then things changed. When you change your mind, your energy follows and so do your actions. Everything is all how you look at it. Now things are not what I would call back to normal because they're better. I realize that I have control of my thoughts so I have control of my life. I know I can't change anyone else's mind or control other people, but when I see things as I want them to be instead of how I don't want them to be, it not only makes me feel a lot better, it actually starts moving me toward what I want. I can't believe what a difference it makes.

I still haven't attracted a million dollars to buy our B&B but I did receive some good suggestions from a reader--thank you! And I now appreciate my family--my husband and kids--more than ever. They are what's most important to me. I'm so happy and grateful to have them in my life. And I just read a good line the other day: Wherever happiness is, prosperity follows--or something like that. Not sure of the exact wording but their meaning rings true no matter what. Relationships are so important and need to come first. Then you can work on getting rich. I still don't have any sales, but I've done some research and know that it takes time to get listed in the search engines. So I'm not giving up. I believe in my products--especially my Gratitude cards. Once they catch on, people will keep buying more because they'll see the positive results of sending cards to people for no particular reason. In fact, I'm going to start using them myself. I've already used the sorry cards--it's so difficult for me to say that in person. That's what gave me the idea for the sorry cards in the first place. It's hard to say sorry, so let my adorable bulldog say it for you. Then I figured I could make cards for other occasions as well, besides the usual birthday and notecards, I made some gratitude cards, sending hugs cards, sending smiles cards just to let people know that you appreciate them. Or to stay in touch with someone who may have drifted away. Or to surprise someone who may need a smile or hug. Make someone's day, send them a smile today. In turn you'll be filled with positive energy. Try it. What have you got to lose?

Is this cat the angel of death?

This may not be about attracting or acquiring, but it's a news item sweeping across the country today and it happens to have originated right here in my home state of RI. It seems there's a cat at a Providence nursing home that has predicted the death of 25 of its patients. I'm sure you've probably seen the story on the news by now but I find it fascinating so I decided to pose the question of whether or not this cat has some kind of supernatural ability. According to the doctors at the nursing home where Oscar the cat lives, he lies in bed with the patients for the last two hours of their lives. Always the last two hours. He knows they're going to die. But just how he knows is up for debate. The doctors think that he must smell the chemicals that the body produces right before they die. But there are six cats living in the home. None of them know. There have been stories about dogs being able to sniff out cancer, but why only a few?

To me it seems like there is more going on here. Lately I've been doing a little reading about angels and from what I've read, they do not take on the form of people or animals. But there are people who swear that angels do make themselves seen in the form of animals or people. There are also token animals that, according to some people, namely native Americans, show up in our lives to guide us. In the spring there was a hawk that sat in the tree above my head every morning while I waited for my son to get on the school bus. It stayed there for about two weeks and then I never saw it again. My energy healer told me about token animals and said it was there to give me a message. Though, I never figured out what that message was. When I was younger, I remember I had a cat that would always lie with me whenever I was sick. And as much as I adore animals, I didn't like my dog or my cat near me when I felt sick. I never figured out why that was. Then again, when I'm sick I don't really like to be around anyone. It just seems animals do have a sixth sense about people. Like whenever I'm upset, my bulldog follows me around and looks at me. That look always makes me laugh even when I'm down. Guess that's why he's my Karmic Bulldog. Check out my Karmic Bulldog store at http://cafepress.com/karmicbulldog and send a smile to someone you care about.

Anyway, as I'm writing this there is another story on my local news about Oscar the cat. A doctor from the New England Journal of Medicine is studying the cat and thinks it just instinctively knows when people are going to die and wants to comfort them. But maybe it is more than that. Maybe the cat is an angel of death and his job here is to give comfort to people in their last hours on earth. Only the cat knows for sure.

Till next time, be prepared for the best. And remember to always be kind to animals, they know a lot more than we give them credit for.

Attracting a million dollars

No, I haven't acquired a million dollars yet, but I want to. And soon. I found the perfect job opportunity for my husband, one that is much better than the one he didn't get hired for last week. I saw this house in the real estate section of my local paper and fell in love with it. It's a bed and breakfast in the perfect location for us with a water view. At first I thought it would be a nice place to live if we were already rich. But then I thought it would be a great idea to keep it as a B&B so my husband could cook (that's what he does) for a smaller crowd and only one meal a day at that. What a great business opportunity. The only problem is the price: $1.39 million. That's a little over a million more than we can afford--at least right now. I know according to Joe Vitale of "The Attractor Factor" and "The Secret," the universe likes speed, but I'm not quite sure how to manifest a million dollars at lightening speed. If anyone out there knows, please share here.

Meanwhile, I'll keep that clear mental image of our dream house (B&B) and keep the faith that it can/will be ours somehow. I keep reading stories about people attracting their perfect houses, some for free, and it gives me hope. Then again, it makes me wonder how they're doing it. What we really need is for someone to buy the business as an investment and let us run it. I'm not exactly sure how the profits would be split, but I know stranger things have happened. We acquired our home improvements without having to pay for them, so why not up the attraction to bigger and better things?

We'll see what happens.

Till next time, be prepared for the best.

Keeping positive when things turn negative

Well, my husband didn't get the job. Needless to say, we're both very disappointed. We were both counting on that job, perhaps a little too much. I just keep telling myself that something better will come along. That's the only thing keeping me going. Things sure change fast in a week. Last week I opened up my new online store, my husband had an interview for a better job with higher pay, more time off and benefits, and I lost five pounds without even trying. Things were going great. Now, a little over a week later, no job, no sales in my store and the weight is still gone, but the elation over it is gone too.

It could have been worse, I know. And, thanks to the help of EFT, I'm looking forward to bigger and better things coming my way. Without EFT, my old way of thinking might have brought me into a deep depression--like I've been prone to in the past. I have faith that people will find my store and buy enough to keep me in business. And my husband will find another job. It's been four years now that he's waited for an opportunity like this to come along, and to have it so close...and then it was gone. We just have to focus on what we do have. Even though he hates his current job, at least my husband is employed with some money coming in. And I enjoy creating my cards and gifts even if nobody buys them yet. It's a fun process and I get to be creative. And we also have our health. When I start to think about it, we're doing pretty good. I have much to be happy about and I am. Sometimes it's hard to convince myself of that. Words alone just don't do it. But I've found meditation helps, as does writing down what I want--and being grateful for what I have, as well as EFT. Today was an emergency session that worked wonders. I highly recommend it for turning negative emotions into positive ones.

It's hard to stay positive when life doesn't go as planned, but it is possible. And I'm living proof. If I can do this, anybody can. Just stay focused on the end result, rather than how you'll get there and you will make it. It may take a little longer than expected, but you'll see the results if you continue to believe in yourself.

Till next time, be prepared for the best!

Using The Law of Attraction to lose weight

I've lost five pounds without even trying. All I did was picture myself wearing a smaller size (in new clothes that I love) and concentrated on my ideal weight. Of course, I wrote it down too. And there is something else that has really fast forwarded my progress, EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique). I've used it successfully for several issues--including a sore throat, headaches and bad moods. Also, when I use EFT, I know I'm getting at key issues that have kept me eating unhealthy foods and not really paying attention to my own health. EFT really has helped with so many things in my life, I can't even think of them all here right now. So I'll just keep posting more when I think of something I've gained from its use. Also, if you visit the website (click the link under things I've tried that worked) you'll find articles on how to use EFT with the Law of Attraction, or The Secret. They're basically the same thing. The thing about using EFT along with The Secret is it just makes you feel better immediately. And it seems to speed up the process of attracting your desires. Or, as I like to say, Acquiring them. Because basically, you're acquiring things or circumstances all your life. Whatever you're concentrating on and giving your attention to, you end up acquiring whether you want it or not.

So, obviously the weight didn't magically disappear, but I've noticed that I don't eat as much at meals. I really can't eat that much at meals. It's like my body won't let me. Because I've given my subconscious mind the fuel it needs to take over and get the job done. That's the way EFT and the Law of Attraction work. Using them both together will speed up the process and make it seem effortless.

Try it. What have you got to lose, except for maybe a few unwanted pounds?

Till next time, be prepared for the best!

Open For Business!

Sorry, it's been so long since my last post. I've been busy setting up my http://cafepress.com/karmicbulldog store. It's open for business, but I still have a few items I'm planning to add later, so do visit again soon. Things are going really well. It's almost eerie sometimes. I've been writing things down things I want every day, and for the past few days I've written that I want my husband to get some competent help at work because he's been short staffed and stressed out. Well, today they hired someone my husband knows is competent because he used to work there and is returning. And, I've written that I want him to get a better job with higher pay, more time off, a lot more vacation and full family health benefits. Tomorrow he has an interview for just such a job. I'll let you know how that turns out.

Meanwhile, as you can see when you visit my store, the pictures came out great! I absolutely adore the bulldog with flowers picture that I'm using as my logo. I love it so much that I added it to a lot of my merchandise. Including my gratitude cards. I'm planning on sending them to my own family, friends and acquaintances to attract even more abundance into my life. So far, it's working. Who doesn't love getting an unexpected card? Give it a try and see if at the very least it makes someones day. It couldn't hurt to give and get some good karma.

Till next time, be prepared for the best!

Acquired a Photographer

My husband's friend from work came over our house today and shot our bulldog--with his $700 digital camera. So I should have some good pictures for my T-shirts, mugs, baby clothes, and of course, my gratitude cards at my new cafe press store. I should have all of them uploaded and the store open for business by next weekend.

We didn't even have to pay for the pictures, so I am attracting good things all the time. Now if I could just get others to do the same, maybe I could really make a difference in the world. Well, I guess that's kind of what I'm doing with the cards.

I will keep you posted--literally--when you can buy them and start spreading the abundance. That way you can get it back to you. Karma is kind of the same thing as The Secret and The Science of Getting Rich. But maybe not so focused on money. It's always better to feel good and that way you'll be attracting more of the same.

Till next time, be prepared for the best!

Welcome to my new blog!

This is an extenstion of my blog, Healing the hardway, at karmicbulldog.wordpress.com. I decided to move to Blogger because there are so many more options here. And I can customize the look of the template. It's so much more flexible! But I'm having a tough time finding a way to write someone to get help. I've only seen forums and groups, and I'd rather e-mail someone directly. If anyone knows how to do that, please leave a comment and let me know. I'd really appreciate it. Anyway, I also appreciate you visiting my blog, so thank you. Remember, it's all about gratitude. If we're full of it (gratitude) we'll get more to be grateful for.

Stay tuned for my new line of gratitude cards featuring my famous bulldog and Boston terrier as well as some cute kids--all happen to be mine.

If you want to read some of my old posts, please feel free to visit Healing the hard way--there's a link on my blog roll. I've also posted a few of them here just to give you an idea of what it's all about. I'm hoping to make this blog more about healing the easy way.

Till next post, be prepared for the best!

The Secret Works
Okay, I’ve been a bit skeptical of all the much-hyped DVD and book, The Secret, but I tried it and it worked–I think. If you read my previous post about my hellish home repair experience–painted kitchen counters–you know I’ve been going through a rough time. Not to mention losing my brother-in-law and finding out my sister has breast cancer all in the same week. I’m a firm believer in the principles in The Science of Getting Rich–see previous post and links for more information about that free e-book that changed my life. But when life throws curves at you and you’re stuck thinking you attrracted it all (according to The Secret, we attract everything to us even the bad) it gets kind of hard to believe. I mean I just wanted to have nice new kitchen counters, so why did mine turn out to be worse than before? Maybe because I lost confidence in the workers who were in charge. They left my counters a wreck and we didn’t know what to do since there was no more money in the budget to fix it.So, last night, my husband and I watched The Secret again after viewing it once last fall. Well, I decided to picture my counters the way I wanted them, no matter what they currently looked like. Today, I had a call from the contractor saying he’s willing to install new countertops–which is what we wanted all along–on top of our newly destroyed ones–at no cost to us. Wow! I was shocked because this guy had been anything but willing to help us before. Now, without even a phone call from us, he says he’ll fix the problem. And when I called my husband at work to tell him, he told me he got a call for a job interview next week–without having to submit a resume or anything! That was fantastic news because my husband hates his current job. He had been layed off from a great job three years ago and now three new jobs opened up in his fromer place of employment and my husband is first in line to get one. I’m thrilled! Was this some kind of magic because we watched The Secret last night and decided to put it to work? I can’t say for sure, but it is a big coincidence otherwise. I prefer to think that we’re changing our luck by changing our thinking. Of course, The Secret is not the only self-improvement tool I’ve used in the recent months, and I will get into the others in upcoming posts. But this news is too good not to share. Perhaps I should have saved it for my upcoming Healing the Easy Way blog!Until next time, be prepared for the best!

The Secret Still Working--If I can help it.
We have our new counters–ceramic tile. They look much better than that crappy paint job they left us with last week. And we got them at no extra cost us! The contractor even came to our house yesterday while the guys were finishing up and apologized to me and my husband. We were rather shocked. Maybe he’s seen The Secret too? Anyway, I’m finally free to use my kitchen–when the grout dries. There is one tiny problem, however. Our sink isn’t laying against the countertop like it used to. And our water pressure isn’t as strong. I guess that’s two tiny problems. No major deal, but I’m not sure if I should complain or just let it go. Afterall, we got way more expensive counters than we expected, and they make our kitchen look newer and brighter. But that kitchen sink just doesn’t look right. In The Science of Getting Rich, as well as The Secret, we’re not supposed to focus on what we don’t want or the problems. Only what we do want and what we’re grateful for. Well, I’m grateful for the counters and for getting my house back to normal–almost. I do want the sink to be fixed, and I am trying to picture it the way I want it. It worked for the counters, why not the sink? There’s a long story to why we didn’t have to pay for all this and it was also a stroke of good luck–or just attracting something good into my life by focusing on gratitude. Next time I’ll tell the whole story. Until then, I’m trying to stay grateful to the workers for all their efforts instead of wondering why these people can’t put the sink back to where it was before.

The Secret Works, But You May Not Always Like What You Get
We now have our new ceramic tile kitchen counters and they look great. Especially now that we shined them up with some floor wax. Now we’re waiting for the workers to put the sink back down so it rests on the counter. But the Einsteins who came to fix the leak that they left us with when they popped the sink (same home repair company) said they couldn’t do it. So we asked that the person who popped the sink come back and put it back in right. But I’m not holding my breath. We got the promise from the contractor that they’d be here on Friday so I waited all day and wasn’t so surprised when they didn’t show. This is the biggest team of inept labororers I’ve ever seen in my life. I’ve heard bad contractor stories before, but I don’t even know how some of these people got jobs in this business. My husband has spent most of his nights fixing stuff that they did wrong. And they even had to use my husband’s tools while they were here because they didn’t have their own. Then one of them walked off with all our tools–even the ones in the garage–and also took the clips to our sink so my husband can’t fix it even though he knows how and they don’t. We did get the tools back, but not the clips. They don’t even have their own tools! What kind of home repair business doesn’t even have their own tools?I know, where’s the gratitude for getting all this work done for free, you’re probably thinking. And it is there. We just didn’t realize what a huge amount of work would go into redoing our kitchen counters. And we didn’t know we’d be taking on a do-it-yourself project. If they’d been done right in the first place, we wouldn’t be complaining. We are grateful to have our kitchen back. We’ve had to keep our counters clear for the past 2 weeks and now we finally can use the microwave and toaster in the kitchen. We are grateful for getting a grant to cover our new roof–which was done by professional roofers who know what they’re doing–and kitchen floor and counters. But if I had it to do all over again, I don’t know if I would bother. Maybe after the dust settles I’ll think differently, but this has been one of the most stressful times of my life. And I think if we got to choose the contractor and were paying for it ourselves things would have turned out different.Originally I was totally picturing our new floors and countertops looking great. I just didn’t know what a long and difficult process it would be. That’s the thing with The Secret and the law of attraction, you don’t ask to know how or when, just the outcome. So, I guess in that respect, I did get exactly what I wanted. It’s all in how you perceive it.Next time I hope to have my sink fixed. And just maybe I’ll have more positive news to report. But The Secret does work. Just know that sometimes things get much worse before they get better. In the end it should be exactly the way we want.Till next time, prepare for the best.
